I get called Ma'am a lot. Does it mean I look old ?

I get told I look really young for my age and I'm in my 20s. I get called ma'am a lot and I'm in the Northeast. Doe anyone know ?

  • You get called that because you're female, not because you're old.

    They are being polite.

  • i get "Sir" very often, and it shocks me. Who are they talking to? I had to call my boss "Sir" but that was different. Now they say it to me??

That is because they are polite and I am older than they are. EVERYone is now younger than Me!! That is what happens.

Just accept it as respect. We finally earned it! Don't think you are old.... just that they are young!
