Should we be concerned about the Coronavirus?

  • Best Answer

No; you need not be concerned. The media is blowing this all out of proportion (as usual). There has recently been an outbreak of a new strain of coronavirus in China. A lot of people in China have gotten sick from the virus, buy no one has died.

A coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in your nose, sinuses, or upper throat. Most coronaviruses spread the same way other cold-causing viruses do: through infected people coughing and sneezing, by touching an infected person's hands or face, or by touching things such as doorknobs that infected people have touched.  You can treat a coronavirus with rest and over-the-counter medication.

Most coronaviruses are not dangerous. Almost everyone gets a coronavirus infection at least once in their life, most likely as a young child.

  •   If you are referring to those of us in the U.S,  I do not think there is anything major to worry about at the moment.  However, that may change in the near future, as more cases are being reported here with each passing week.

  • its just some vicious super flu of some kind.  however that one brit who had 2kg of fluid pumped out of his lungs daily,  that kind of makes me wonder a bit.

  • The one confirmed case in the US was in the next county over. He heard about the outbreak, recognized the symptoms and immediately rushed to the hospital and was quarantined.

    THAT'S a patriot, Mr. Trump.

  • I think the media throws this all out of proportion.  Treat it as you would any other virus going around.

  • There are a thousand other things that have a better chance of getting you. So at this time unless you live in the Chinese city where it is concentrated, if you do then it might move up a few hundred places to just below being killed by an elephant that escapes the zoo.
