Why do people celebrate valentines day?

All these people in love make me feel sick and it's the most useless thing ever in a year but what's with all the love dovey stuff? Cards, gifts, roses, dinner etc. Why can't they do that for their love every other week?

What is Valentine's Day? St Valentine's Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. Every year on 14 February people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends. Couples send Valentine's Day cards and flowers and spend special time together to honour their love for each other.

  • Good question, in this informative video, Dirk also questions the value of the day... for men. Dirk is a smart man, no doubt about that.

  • I agree with you. Valentine's is just another day. I guess it's just what they believe in but I think they're idiots who like to celebrate somebody's delusion. Love is a human thing and that romance is for every day of the year.

  • Just a way for certain businesses to make extra money. Personally I think it sucks. My wife and I are going to most expensive steakhouse in town tomorrow night, but I'd rather not. It was obviously her idea, not mine.
