  • show me the McDonalds in a state with mandated minimum wage hikes that still employs 40 people....

...the two near me used to be places where generations of local teens got their first job experience... today the two locations employ a total of of 12, with most of them over age 30 and working them as full-time jobs... like many other places, unemployment among teens, students and single parents needing flexible hours has increased sharply with every round of minimum wage hikes...

meanwhile, my factory has hired more people in the last three years than in the previous decade combined...but because most of those have been low-skill minimum wage jobs (so that our more experienced workers can be promoted and/or focus on more important tasks) "progressives" on our city council have chided us for "only adding low wage jobs"...

a third of our management staff started in entry level jobs on our factory floor... how many of your "40 McDonalds workers" will ever have that opportunity in the dead end that you helped create?

  • Some guy rebuilding PCs in his basement is not a factory, but that's how Trump gets his 13,000 number. Any person with half a brain knows we didn't really open 13k new factories. In fact, with a little research you can easily see manufacturing jobs are declining. Automation and robotics have assured that factories as we used to know them are never coming back.

  • The McDonald’s employer at your local area tells employees to spit in your burger bubba ray.

  • If the business is manufacturing goods, it's a factory. The number of employees is not really relevant. Look up the definition of "factory!" So is that particular small business manufacturing products or not?

  • Factory:  a building or group of buildings where goods are manufactured or assembled chiefly by machine.

The number of employees is not relevant to the definition.  FYI, McDonald's is classified as a QSR or Quick Serve Restaurant.
