  • I'm worried about my eyes what should i do?

i'm a man aged 42 and years ago i was diagnosed with diabetes type 2, after having an unhealthy lifestyle for so long, but since the diagnosis i have threw everything into changing my life and managing the condition.....i started the gym, and went to swim when i could, watched my diet....and i lost nearly 3 stone and got my blood sugar right down...the nurse was pleased with me at my annual review check months ago.. but recently i went for my eye exam, which was held at the local library, they have a little eye exam place there, that was on feb the 18th just gone...they put drops into my eyes and scanned my eyes...and i had to read from an eye chart......so the nurse said i was free to go after all that and that they'll write to me with the results in a couple of weeks.....but just this morning, i got an NHS letter for an appointment at the eye hospital in this march?.......and i'm panicking as to what it could mean? what it could be about? to start with, i'm frightened of anything clinical, doctors, nurses, clinics etc....so i was dreading these appointments with my eyes, now i'm really frightened about this letter this morning? does anyone think i will be okay? believe i'll be alright? if there is something the matter with my eyes will they be able to help me? i was hoping for reassurance as i'm quite scared.

  • Am I essentially screwed if I still have bad vision even with my glasses on?

I'm 26, and have suppose to been wearing glasses my whole life, but stopped wearing them around 13. I noticed lately my vision is terrible to the point I can hardly make out street signs, even with my glasses on. Am I screwed, or can my doctor get me prescription glasses based on the vision I have now?

  • Are you “blind” without wearing glasses or contacts? ?

Best answer: I am legally blind without glasses or contacts, D, and I am near sighted and so I really need my glasses or contacts to drive or watch TV or much of anything. It sometimes is a hassle keeping up with my glasses but I need them and cannot afford to have my vision surgically corrected.

  • Why does my eyesight get really blurry when I am very tired?

Best answer: Your eyes go blurry when you are tired because your visual system is fatigued. The muscles around the ocular lens need to contract in order to focus. When you are tired, these muscles may get tired and you may have trouble focusing on objects. In order to understand why you are only experiencing this problem now, I recommend thinking about any changes in habit you may have had. Keep in mind, dry eyes are usually the cause of visual fatigue and blurry vision.

  • Should I get LASIK surgery or continue to wear glasses/contacts? ?

Best answer: both my parents got lasik ten or so years ago and are fine.  sometimes they still need reading glasses, but they're fine for normal eye sight.  since it's been out a while now i don't think you need to worry about any problems with the procedure.

go see your eye doctor and inquire about it.  see what they think if your eyes can handle it.  some eyes if you have too much astigmatism they can't fix it, or will be super expensive.  and you should be able to get free quotes from places too.  whether or not you have insurance.

    doesn't hurt to ask.

  • My mother won't let me get contact lenses?

so right now I wear glasses, but I really want contact lenses. (i'm 15 years old) today i asked her about getting them and she straight up just said no. i asked her why, and she said that your eyes will dry out and that i wasn't ready for them. she went on and on about how i spend a lot of time on my phone and computer, but i did not think that was a valid response. i told her how there are different types of lenses that are suitable for anyone. i told her that there are eye drops that keep your eye from drying out if that's the case. i also told her i had done a lot of research into taking care, and that also the eye doctor would explain to me the procedure. however, she ignored me and just said no and got really mad at me. i told her contacts would be easy for me because i do sports. she ignored me and starts talking about me not reading books (?). cost is not an issue because i've offered to pay for it myself. i've literally done everything to try make her understand but she just won't listen! someone please help :(
