  • Can I use Onkyo speakers on Yamaha receiver?

Best answer: Compatibility or not depends on the Ohms rating for the speaker  and the ratings range  for the receiver... not the brand. Even with in brands compatibility will differ, from model to model...so a lot depends on the specific model number for both receiver and speaker whats going to work and what not going to work... ..So if you check in the manual for the receiver it will say what ohms range is acceptable. Also the speaker in question should also have a manual and inside the specs listing for the speaker the ohms rating should be listed...If you do not have a manual you can probably go on line and get one in PDF format.or at least a specs sheet that will give you the information you need...Sometimes on the back of the speaker the model and ohms rating is listed..With receivers you have to read between the lines sometimes Usually with a receiver the specs for a certain ohms range will be listed..if.  none is listed or  no ohms specs are listed that could mean its not compatible with that ohms range..Sometimes they will list the range of compatible speakers but sometimes not only an ohms rating.

  • Vintage speaker repair?

So I'm just hoping someone can point me in the right direction. We have some vintage Fisher speakers, model 5115 (from the 70s I think?). They both work great still but one of the woofers is torn on the front. I believe it's a 15". My boyfriend wants to get a new speaker to put in it but I don't know where to even start looking. I'm running a little blind herw since it's meant to be a Christmas present and I'm not a speaker person at all. Anyone know where I could find a really vintage Fisher replacement?

  • Why does projector turn off then on after running for a while?

Projector is an Epson 730HD. If I stream a movie from the smart DVD player(Netflix). After about an 1.5hr or so it starts to turn off momentarily every 30 sec to a minute. Gets real annoying. Is it the projector? The DVD player? Projector getting too hot? Cable problem? None of the lights on the projector turn on like the lamp is overheating or anything. I don’t know much about projectors. But I also don’t know if it’s the DVD player, but it doesn’t seem like it would be the DVD player as you can still hear sound during the momentary black out, and you can hear the projector gargling when it blacks out.

  • Bought A Soundbar, Didn't Know My TV Didn't Have ARC or Optical...?

Alrighty, so long story short, I bought a Sony soundbar for my RCA TV. Turns out, in order to properly connect and use the soundbar, it needed to be ported eithed through an HDMI ARC port, or through an Optical cable. Well... Turns out my TV doesn't have either. I did some research, and I found that someone managed to circumvent all of this by using a Audio to Optical cable adapter. So I bought one, and... It still doesn't work. I'm going to call Sony tomorrow and see what can be done, but until then, I'm hoping one of you guys has been through this, and maybe knows what to do and how to make all of this work.  Yeah, I should have done more research before purchasing, but it's here now, and before I consider completely returning and refunding my purchase, I'd like to do whatever I can to try and make things work. Thanks in advance.
